Hamriyah Free Zone Company Registration Process

HFZ’s simple formalities and procedures enable clients to obtain a business license  within one hour of submission of the required documents:

Four-steps to obtain a License:

1. Fill in the license application form and provide details of the proposed business activities for provisional approval.
2. For Branches: submit the company incorporation documents and Board Resolution of the parent company. For new company incorporation : Submit the FZE/FZC application form and deposit the minimum capital required in a UAE bank, temporarily (for 1-2 days).
3. Sign the agreement with HFZA and make all the required payments.
4. When the license and lease are issued the company is ready to commence operations. For FZE/FZC companies, the company incorporation documents are issued also.

Types of Companies

Free Zone Establishment (FZE)

• One shareholder (person or company)
• Limited liability company
• Minimum capital requirement: AED 150,000
• Shares in multiples of AED 150,000
• At least one of the Directors and the Secretary must be UAE residents
• Minimum 2 Directors and one Secretary
• The offices of the Director and Secretary may be held jointly by one person

Free Zone Company (FZC)

• 2-5 shareholders (persons or companies)
• Limited liability company
• Minimum capital requirement: AED 150,000
• Shares in multiples of AED 1,000
• At least one of the Directors and the Secretary must be UAE residents
• Minimum 2 Directors and 1 Secretary
• The offices of the Director and Secretary may be held jointly by one person

Branch of a Local or International Company

There are no capital requirements in order to set up a branch of an established local or international company.

Licenses

The type of business license issued to a client will depend on the proposed business activity of the company.

Type of Licenses:

• Industrial License: for the import of raw materials for processing, manufacturing and/or assembly of products which are specified in the license. The end products can be exported outside the United Arab Emirates. The license holder can sell the finished products to the UAE market only through a local distributor or agent.
• Commercial License: for the import, export, distribution, sale and storage of products which are specified in the license. The license holder can sell the finished products to the UAE market only through a local distributor or agent.
• Service License: to provide services which are specified in the license within HFZ.

Plots of Land

• Over 12 million m2 land for industrial and commercial use
• Available sea plots
• Sizes from 2,500 m2 and above
• Minimum lease period 5 years and up to 25 years and renewable for another 25 years
• Lease rates fixed for first 5 years
• Full annual rental payments on signing the lease
• Construction on up to 60% of each plots
• The client needs to apply for the provision of electricity, water and telecommunications to HFZ

Warehouses

• Ready-to-use warehouse facilities for construction of offices, factories, warehouses etc
• Sizes of 614m2, 416m2 and 276m2
• Activities such as light manufacturing, assembly and storage etc must be approved by HFZ
• Minimum one year leases – and up to 25 years and renewable for another 25 years
• Lease rates fixed for the first 5 years
• Full annual rental payments on signing the lease
• Facilities for office space, reception areas, toilets, kitchen
• Car parking
• A/C installation by the client
• Insurance cost included in the rent
• The client needs to apply for the provision of electricity, water and telecommunications to HFZ

Harbor

• 14m depth harbor can accommodate LPG and large vessels
• Access to “Freight Bridge” between Europe and Far East
• Access to “the link” – highway that connects HFZ with UAE coast

Accommodation City – Housing for Workers

Phase One Facility:

• Senior Accommodation – Type A: 2 bedroom facility which can accommodate up to 2 people per room, ideal for Supervisors, Engineers, Service Technicians and Foremen, AED 2,000 per unit per month
• Junior Accommodation – Type B and C: rooms accommodating up to 8 people, ideal for Unskilled, Semi-skilled, Skilled and Clerical staff, AED 2,000 per room per month
• Junior Accommodation – Type B TV: rooms accommodating up to 14 people, ideal for Unskilled, Semi-skilled, Skilled and Clerical staff, AED 3,500 per room per month
• Junior Accommodation – Type D, E, F, P: rooms accommodating up to 6 people, ideal for Unskilled, Semi-skilled, Skilled and Clerical staff, Type D: AED 1,800 per room per month, Type E: AED 2,000 per room per month, Type F: AED 2,000 per room per month, Type P: AED 1,200 per room per month

Phase Two Facility:

• Junior Accommodation – 1 to 16 buildings: rooms accommodating up to 6 people, ideal for Unskilled, Semi-skilled, Skilled and Clerical staff, AED 2,000 per room per month

Room Features:

• Canteen catering for workers provided
• Services such as food, laundry, transportation etc are not included in the room rate
• Client needs to supply furniture and bedding etc
• Electricity, water, a/c included in the rent
• Rent and charges are paid in advance

Seven Zones of HFZ

The seven sub zones that make up the Hamriyah 7 Magnificent Zones are:

• Oil & Gas Zone: ideal for downstream activities, converting crude oil into final products. This zone provides refinery, petrochemical and power generation facilities.
• Petrochemical Zone: for petrochemical production and the downstream and end-use processing activities of non-oil products.
• Steel City: for the manufacture of steel.
• Construction World: to facilitate activities related to the manufacture and supply of raw materials.
• Timber Land: to facilitate the integration of wood storage with other industrial activities involving timber.
• Maritime City: for rig and ship construction, repair, ship chandlery etc
• Perfume World: for the perfume industry.

The zones are ideal for the setup of SME’s as they are complimented by quick and easy E-Office packages.

Hamriyah MB Zone

HFZ’s Micro-Businesses Zone caters specifically to the needs of owners of micro businesses. A micro business has less than 5 employees and is normally family-owned or self-owned. Hamriyah MB Zone fulfils micro business owners’ needs for convenient, efficient, hassle-free and practical solutions.
