The main regulatory body in DMC is the Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) which was created in 2007 to develop, monitor and promote maritime activities. Dubai Maritime City Free Zone Registration Process

You will need to submit the following documents for the setup of a company in Dubai Maritime City Free Zone:

• Articles of Association
• resolution for the company’s incorporation issued by the company’s management
• passport copies of the company’s directors and manager
• a specimen signature of the company’s directors and manager
• powers of attorney for the company’s directors, manager and secretary
• a letter from the bank confirming deposit of the share capital

For the incorporation of a branch office the following documents are required to be submitted:

• the parent company’s Articles of Association
• resolution for the company’s incorporation issued by the company’s management
• passport copies of the company’s manager
• powers of attorney for the company’s manager
• a specimen signature of the company’s manager
• a letter from the bank confirming deposit of the share capital

DMC’s Services

Investors can opt for the below three legal entities available at Dubai Maritime City Free Zone:

• a Free Zone Establishment (FZE)
• a Free Zone Company (FZC)
• a Branch Office

Free Zone Establishment (FZE)

A Free Zone Establishment requires:

• One shareholder
• 1 million AED minimum share capital paid fully upon company incorporation
• At least 2 directors and maximum 5 directors and 1 manager
• The shareholder(s) must live within the free zone or a representative is appointed via power of attorney

Free Zone Company (FZC)

A Free Zone Company requires:

• Minimum two and maximum five shareholders
• 500,000 AED minimum share capital paid fully upon company incorporation
• At least 2 directors and maximum 5 directors and 1 manager
• The shareholder(s) must live within the free zone or a representative is appointed via power of attorney

Branch

A Branch office is a dependent legal entity, carrying out business in the name of its parent company.

Licensing in DMC

DMC grants the following licenses:

• Marine Craft Crew License
• Marine Craft License
• Maritime Commercial License

Marine Craft Crew License

For individuals including United Arab Emirates citizens and residents.
DMC’s objective, with the issuing of the Marine Craft crew License is to increase the driver’s awareness and experience of safety requirements as well as marine rules. Also holders of this license will have knowledge of the internal and external waters of Dubai as well as the various marine signs.

Marine Craft License

For Individuals, including United Arab Emirates citizens and expatriates and the companies licensed in the United Arab Emirates.
The objective of Licensing of Crafts is to make sure that the crafts are built and manned to certain standards which means their adhering to safety requirements to ensure the safety of the craft passengers and crew and to ensure that the craft operates in a responsible manner that does not cause pollution to the environment.

Maritime Commercial License

Obtaining a Maritime Commercial License is a simple and cost effective procedure at DMC. Companies and establishments can obtain the Maritime Commercial License to engage in maritime activities in Dubai and individuals can obtain the license to engage in recreational activities in Dubai’s waters.

• NOC of issuance and renewal of licenses for maritime companies and establishments in Dubai
• NOC of issuance and renewal of licenses for maritime companies and establishments in the Special Development Zones
• NOC of renewal and amendment of licenses for maritime companies and establishments in the Jebel Ali Free Zone
