The Dubai Free Zone (DFZ) Council has approved a strategy aimed at boosting the interest of international investors in Dubai’s free zones.

This strategy is a wise move that will highly increase the competitiveness of Dubai’s free zones. Therefore it will strongly support the government of Dubai with the development of its economic and investment strategy.

The DFZ Council’s new strategy was approved at the DFZ’s fifth Council meeting and includes the:

• Already approved decision (approved in December) to support and facilitate free zone companies to transfer to other Dubai free zones
• Implementation of best practices
• Development and implementation of effective operational frameworks.

The Dubai Free Zone Council was launched in April 2015. Its Chairman is H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of the Emirates Group. The main role of the DFZ Council is to develop the free zones of Dubai to attract international investors and to create an environment that is a platform for boosting industry, tourism, commerce and services.
